Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that his country is ready for “meaningful talks” with India to resolve all pending issues. Sharif expressed this view on Tuesday during a telephone conversation with Saudi Arabia Yuvraj Mohammed bin Salman.
The conversation took place about two months after the tension between India and Pakistan increased after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on 22 April. 26 people were killed in this attack.
According to ‘Radio Pakistan’, Prime Minister Sharif said during the conversation that “Pakistan is ready to have a meaningful conversation with India on all pending issues including Jammu and Kashmir, water, trade and terrorism.”
Meanwhile, Sharif and Saudi leader also exchanged ideas on the current developments of West Asia. Soon after the Pahalgam terror attack, India postponed the 1960 Indus Water Treaty and took steps such as preventing all business activities with Pakistan.
India also started ‘Operation Sindoor’ on May 7 in response to the Pahalgam terror attack, targeting the terrorist structure in Pakistani areas. The struggle continued for four days after this attack, which came to an end on May 10 after consent to stop military action.
