Shillong, the quiet city of Meghalaya among the green hills, was in the discussion for other reasons instead of walking recently. On the 11th of May, King Raghuvanshi of Indore married Sonam Raghuvanshi of this city and both went to Meghalaya for a honeymoon. On May 20, both reached Sohra (Cherrapunji). After leaving their homestay on 23 May, the two went missing and on June 2, the king’s mutilated body was found at the deep ghat near Wei Savdong Falls. This heartbreaking incident shook the whole country. But the question was where is the king’s wife Sonam. Sonam was missing from there.
The police started the investigation and the layers started opening, then the story came in front that shocked everyone. This cruel conspiracy, which was under the guise of honeymoon, not only killed one life, but also ended the happiness of two families forever.
30 -year -old King Raghuvanshi was a reputed transport businessman in Indore. The annual turnover of his family business named Raghuvanshi Transport is said to be around Rs 10 crore. Sonam of an ordinary family was married to the king with family consent. According to the family of the king, Sonam was not showing much interest in marriage from the beginning, but the family, relatives ignored this and decided the relationship.
Catch in catch: Meghalaya police arrested Sonam
Raja’s brother Vipin Raghuvanshi says that both of them had told that they were going to see mother Kamakhya Devi in Assam, but it was later revealed that they had gone to Meghalaya.
On May 23, both went to visit the Double Decker Living Root Bridge located in Nongriyat village in East Khasi Khasi Hills district. Both suddenly went missing from there. A few hours later, his rented scooty found unclaimed at the deserted place, causing the police to find the case suspicious. After several days of searching, the king’s body was found in a deep ditch near the waterfall on 2 June. The postmortem revealed that the king’s head was stabbed with sharp weapons. The body was identified by a tattoo on his hand, on which his name was King Anal.
Initially, the police found this accident or robbery case, but as the investigation proceeded, the story indicated in depth and conspiracy. Sonam was initially missing, but her bag, mangalsutra and ring were found in the hotel room. The newlyweds left Mangalasutra and knocked the police. After that a special team was formed to investigate the case.
After this, the police of Madhya Pradesh and Meghalaya started investigation. On June 6, the Meghalaya Police received a CCTV footage, in which Sonam and Raja were seen with three youths. The police suspected that these three youths could join the murder. According to Rajesh Dandotia, DCP of Indore Crime Branch, “On June 6, Meghalaya Police told us that these boys have a SIM card of Indore. We were asked to keep an eye on them. ”
On 8 June, the joint team of Meghalaya and Indore Police caught all three and questioned them. It was revealed that Sonam was the mastermind of the king’s murder. The next day after the colleagues were caught, Sonam arrived at a dhaba in Ghazipur district of Uttar Pradesh and asked her brother Govind to ask for a mobile. On the phone, she told her brother that the king was murdered by the miscreants and she does not know how she reached Ghazipur. Sonam was taken into custody as soon as the police received the information.
Investigation revealed that Sonam had a love affair with Raj Kushwaha, a young man from Indore. The two had a relationship before marriage and the two had planned to remove the king from the road. According to the police, Sonam and Raj together included three more people- Akash Rajput, Vishal Singh Chauhan and Anand in this work.
According to the police, Raj and his three friends had reached there on May 20 before Raja and Sonam reached Shillong. Sonam rented a scooty and left for Sohra. The four accused also hired Scooty and followed both of them. Police got information about their movement from the GPS installed in Scooty.
On the day of the murder, Sonam took Raja to a deserted place on the pretext of trekking and the four together killed the king. After the murder, Sonam took off the jewelry from the king’s body and left the spot. Later, after catching the train from Guwahati, reached Indore, where Raj met Kushwaha and then went to Ghazipur and pretended to surrender.
Police have several digital evidences such as call records, WhatsApp chats, CCTV footage, transaction details, which confirm the conspiracy. Sonam’s two mobile phones have been seized, one of which has found chats related to murder and location tracking apps. In a CCTV footage, Raja and Sonam were seen going on a trekking route with a guide on 23 May. However, the guide has currently received a clean chit.
During interrogation, Sonam admitted to plotting the murder and also admitted that she was present at the scene. The police suspect that he went to Ghazipur and made a drama to show himself the victim, so that the matter could be confused.
On 11 June, all the five accused were produced in the Meghalaya court. From there they have been sent on 8 days police remand. The police is now interrogating in turn. The crime scene has also been recreated by taking all three to the spot.
Meanwhile, there are rumors of Sonam getting pregnant but this has not been confirmed in medical examination. The police is also investigating his mental state and intention. Meghalaya Chief Minister Konrad Sangma said that the matter is different for the state and the readiness with which the police has taken action is commendable.
Raj Kushwaha for whom Sonam killed her husband Raja
The sorrow and anger of the king’s family are clear. His mother Uma Raghuvanshi said that if Sonam is found guilty, she should be punished severely. Brother Vipin Raghuvanshi said that it is not just murder, betrayal and all the culprits should be hanged. He claimed that Sonam’s eye was on the family’s property, which is why she agreed to marriage.
Sonam’s brother also joined Govind Raja’s Pindadan. He said that if Sonam is guilty, he too is against him and he should be punished. Govind said that Sonam used to tie rakhi to Raj. He has no idea of different relationships between them. Govind went to Raja’s house and met his mother and expressed grief. With this, the king’s family also suspects Govind that he too is aware of this matter. The king’s family has also demanded Govind’s narco test.
Currently, six police evidence- CCTV footage, call records, transaction data, Khukri from the spot, hotel registration details and Sonam’s mobiles are engaged in further investigation on the basis of information received. On the basis of these evidence, the police is preparing the charge sheet of the case. This charge sheet will be filed in the court in the next 90 days.
So far the real purpose of murder has not been revealed. The king’s family suspects that the matter is not just that Sonam did not want to marry the king. The police have also received information about hawala business from the transactions of Sonam’s accounts. The police is also investigating with the hawala business angle.
Meanwhile, Raja’s brother Sachin Raghuvanshi has created a sensation by saying that Sonam has given his brother’s male to his sick father’s health. Sachin has also alleged that Sonam’s family believes in tantric activities and tricks.
