US President Donald Trump on Thursday (local time) said that the US signed an agreement with China and indicated that a “very big” deal with India would be soon. Trump made this comment while speaking at the Big Beautiful Bill program.
Pointing to the business deals, in his speech, Trump said, “Everyone wants to make a deal and be a part of it. Remember a few months ago, the press was saying, ‘Is there anyone really someone who is interested? Beginning to open the doors for. “
Trump insisted that compromises would not be made with any other country.
He said, “We are not going to deal with everyone. We will just send a letter to some people thank you very much. You will have to pay 25, 35, 45 percent. This is an easy way, and my people do not want to do this way. They want to do some deals, but they want to do more deals.
However, Trump did not explain the details of the agreement with China.
In early June, CNN reported that the United States and China have reached a new trade agreement, in which the first agreed conditions in Geneva have been revived last month, as bilateral trade was almost stopping due to increasing stress.
Trade ceasefire brought temporary relief to global markets, businesses and consumers, which were disturbed by tariff growth and increasing uncertainty for several months.
President Donald Trump had earlier announced on Truth Social that the “deal” was completed, confirming that the two countries would reduce export sanctions. Trump posted in big letters, “Our deal with China is complete”.
He said that China will supply “full magnet, and any required rare soil, advance, according to the Geneva framework.
Earlier this month, speaking at the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum, US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnik had said that the trade agreement between India and the United States could soon be finalized, as the two countries are exploring shared base for their interests.
Trump said, “I think we are in a very good position, and you should expect an agreement between the US and India in the near future, because I think we have found a situation that is really effective for both countries.”
When asked if he was hopeful about the result, Lutenik said that he is very optimistic. He said, “This can be somewhat the same as I see.”
Meanwhile, on June 10, Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said that India and America are negotiating on a fair and justified trade agreement, which will benefit both economies.
Addressing a press conference on the Indo-US trade deal and a press conference on the future trade agreement with the European Union, Piyush Goyal said, “PM Narendra Modi and US President Trump met in February 2025. Both our leaders have decided to enter a bilateral trade agreement which will be transported for both economies, businesses and people of both parties. Are interacting to make just and balanced compromises. “
Highlighting that both the US and India are “very close friends, ally and strategic partners”, Piyush Goyal said that the trade agreement is an opportunity to expand bilateral trade and strengthen the partnership between the two countries.
