New Delhi, 27 June (IANS). In the second quarter of the calendar year 2025, the top seven cities of India increased by 11 percent to 17.8 million sq ft (MSF) in the top seven cities of India. This information was given in a latest report.
According to a latest report by colliers, the leasing growth amid global uncertainties was observed due to the confidence of the author, which included technology, finance, engineering and manufacturing companies, in addition to the flexible space operator.
In the second quarter of 2025, five of the top seven office markets saw a boom in grade a space uptake. Bengaluru led the leasing activity with a 27 percent stake on 4.8 MSF, but the growth remained flat. Each in Hyderabad, Mumbai and Chennai recorded more than 2.5 MSF leasing in the quarter. However, space uptake in Mumbai recorded a 20 percent decline on an annual basis.
Arpit Mehrotra, managing director of office services in India’s India, said, “Demand with strong performance in the first half reached 33.7 MSF, which is a 13 percent increase on an annual basis. This increase is a sign of continuous trust and strong market fundamental of the author.”
He further stated that due to diversifying occupier base, stable supply pipelines and investors’ increasing interest, 2025 is going to be another impressive year for commercial real estate in India. Overall, the demand for office space is in good position to reach 65–70 MSF by the end of the year.
Meanwhile, the total supply during the quarter increased by 11 percent on an annual basis and increased to 14.9 MSF. However, cities like Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Kolkata and Hyderabad declined on an annual basis.
In addition, according to a second report, private equity (PE) investment in India’s office real estate sector in the first half of this year showed optimism. During the April-June period, the PE investment in the Indian Real Estate Sector has been recorded at $ 1.7 billion in 12 deal.
