According to the media report, in the complaint lodged by the victim, it has been told that the main accused Monojo Mishra, who is the District General Secretary of the Trinamool Congress Students Council, was pressurizing the student to marry. When the student refused her marriage proposal, saying that she had a boyfriend, Monojat, who was angry with this, along with her two colleagues Jab Ahmed and Pramit Mukherjee, carried out the incident of cruelty.

The victim student told that they forcibly grabbed me and took me to the guard room. After this I forced me to have a physical relationship. I cried in front of them, begged, caught the feet of the accused but their heart did not sweat. According to the victim, when Monojit Mishra raped her, the other accused also made a video of it. After this, he threatened that if he said anything to someone, he would make the video viral. The student told that when I tried to run away from the room, they tried to kill me with a hockey stick.

The student said that the accused threatened her that she would kill her boyfriend. He has pleaded for justice by the police. On the other hand, the police produced the three accused in Alipur court. The police demanded a 14 -day remand from the court, although the court has approved the police remand of the accused till July 2. At the same time, the student organizations protested against the incident and demonstrated outside the Law College in Kolkata and raised the demand for strict action against the accused.
