New Delhi, 28 June (IANS). Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said on Saturday that the Modi government has brought a big change in the country’s oil and gas sector in the last 11 years through Digital India initiative and this has made LPG systems quite smart by taking fuel stations.
The Union Minister said in a post on social media platform ‘X’ that due to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visionary leadership, our fuel stations, refineries and LPG systems have also become smart in the last 11 years. From UPI to AI in refuel pumps, this cool technical change is real and appears at every step.
Along with this post, the Union Minister also shared a video, stating that the oil and gas sector had a big change in a peaceful manner and the use of technology has increased considerably compared to earlier. Currently, almost all the fuel stations have become automated and fuel dispensing unit and stock are being digitally controlled and monitored.
It was further told in the video that UPI is being accepted at almost all the fuel stations. Apart from this, DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) has been brought in the LPG system, which has helped to save Rs 3.48 lakh crore.
Additionally, the refinery has reduced downtime through digital twin and AI and has helped to increase output. At the same time, through the OALP portl, the government has promoted the discovery of oil and gas in the country through e-auction.
Earlier, the Union Minister had said that the Narendra Modi government has opened an area of India’s 3.5 million square kilometers of sedimentary basins for oil and gas search, which was earlier banned for hydrocarbon discovery.
The Union Minister had said, “Due to the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, this entire ‘No-Go’ area has now been opened, which will promote domestic production and reduce dependence on imports.”
