The Aam Aadmi Party protested at Jantar Mantar on Sunday against the action on slums in Delhi. It included all the big faces of the party Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, Saurabh Bhardwaj, Sanjay Singh. During this, Kejriwal fiercely targeted the BJP government. Arvind Kejriwal said, ‘The BJP government has ruined the lives of the people by breaking the slums. Those living in slums have employment nearby. But when the slums are broken, employment ends. In a way, they have put you in boiling oil. Kejriwal said, ‘During the election, PM Modi had said that where there is a slum, there is a house … but it meant that where the slum is there, there is a field … Modi’s guarantee is fake and artificial. Modi’s guarantee is false. Before the election, their leaders used to come to your homes and sleep. I said that their leaders are coming to see your slums.
‘They want to break all the slums of Delhi’
Kejriwal said, ‘If you break the slums of all the poor and drive them away, then how will you manage? From cooks to drivers, security guards, auto drivers, newspaper sellers and milkmen, all come from slums. He plans to break all the slums of Delhi. 40 lakh people live in slums in Delhi. All people gather together. The day you come on the road, their problems will increase.
‘BJP-Congress is both sisters and brothers’
Arvind Kejriwal said, ‘All engines are yours. We left a good Delhi five months ago. 75 years passed. Nobody arranged water and electricity. These two parties (BJP-Congress) come to loot. BJP-Congress has both sisters and brothers. Addressing the Jan Sabha, he said, ’40 lakh people live in slums. All people gather together. Nobody has the courage to come and break your slums. ‘ Kejriwal also administered the oath to the BJP-Congress not to vote, in which he said, “I take an oath that I will never vote for BJP and Congress after today”.
‘Bulldozers left in just 5 months’
Arvind Kejriwal said that it has been 5 months since the BJP came to power, but bulldozers have started running on the homes of the poor in Delhi. He said, ‘I had said before the election that if the BJP comes to power, these people will break the slums within a year and give the land to their bourgeois friends. What did I know that these people would run bulldozers on slums in just five months.
‘If the bulldozer is not stopped, the government will fall’
Warning the BJP, Kejriwal said, ‘If the bulldozers do not stop on the slums, this government will not last five years. Rekha government will fall in just three years. The Congress government had fallen from this Jantar Mantar, from here the Anna movement started. If the slums are not stopped, your government will also fall from here. ‘He targeted the BJP government and said,’ Instead of working, the BJP is playing an FIR-FIR game in Delhi. You have returned to power after 25 years, but the public did not choose you to register an FIR. What will you get by registering an FIR against Manish Sisodia, Saurabh Bhardwaj and Satendra Jain? ‘Biharis will drop BJP out of Bihar’
