According to police officials, the deceased woman has been identified as Asha Begum (48), wife of Farooq Ahmed Wani. Police said that the accused Aamir Farooq attacked his mother with a sharp weapon.
The seriously injured woman was taken to Deputy District Hospital Sopore, where doctors declared her dead. According to officials, the accused Aamir alias Ghazni is a driver by profession and the police arrested him within a few hours of the incident. A case has been registered against him at Dingivcha police station. The body is kept in Sopore Hospital for post -mortem. The police is investigating the matter.
