In the Charaka Samhita, Kachnar is classified as “Vamanopga”, which means that it is useful in removing toxins from the body. It is also called Mountain Aboni. In Ayurveda it helps to balance Vata, Pitta and Kapha.
Let me tell you, the scientific name of Kachnar is ‘Bauhinia Varigata’. It is found from China to South-East Asia and Indian subcontinent. It is very much liked in India, especially in hilly areas, and Himachal Pradesh is a prominent place.
