Jammu . Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha will flag off the first batch of Amarnath pilgrims from here on Wednesday for two base camps in Kashmir. The 38 -day pilgrimage for the Amarnath Cave Temple, located at an altitude of 3,880 meters in Kashmir, will start from two routes from the valley on July 3 – the traditional 48 km long Nunwan -Pahalgam road in Anantnag district and Chhota (14 km) but more steep -climbing Baltal Marg in Ganderbal district. The journey will conclude on August 9.

The Lieutenant Governor said, “This holy pilgrimage is a journey of faith and self-consciousness. Happy a safe and comfortable journey to all spiritual seekers to the holy residence of Lord Shiva and the experience shocking the deep soul. ”
Talking to media persons, he said that the people of the administration, Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Amarnath ji Shrine Board, Jammu and Kashmir Police and security forces have made extensive arrangements for pilgrims. The Lieutenant Governor said, “Today, more than 4,500 devotees left for the holy cave temple in the first batch to see Baba Barfani. The city of Jammu has come alive with a new vibrancy. The enthusiasm of pilgrims is very high. Officials said the batch of 5,892 pilgrims including 1,115 women, 31 children and 16 transgender left from the base camp at 4:30 in the morning to attend the annual Amarnath pilgrimage. According to officials, more than 3,31,000 devotees have registered so far for this year’s visit. Officials said that registration of devotees coming here for pilgrimage has been started on the spot. Around 4,000 tokens have been distributed in the last two days.
Unaware of terrorist incidents, devotees of Bhole Baba are reaching in large numbers, who are demonstrating their immense faith. I hope that this year’s visit will be even more historic compared to previous years. ”The program was attended by civil administration, police, security force and senior officers of Shrine Board, dignitaries and large number of devotees.
Travel green signal
Officials said that the Lieutenant Governor worshiped immediately after reaching the high -security Bhagwati Nagar base camp and later flagged off the journey for both base camps in Kashmir. Sinha was accompanied by local MLAs, top officials and heads of various religious organizations during the program to flag off the yatra. Sinha said, “I have sent the first batch of pilgrims of Shri Amarnathji Yatra from Bhagwati Nagar base camp.

24 -hour monitoring of trip from integrated command and control center
He said about security that the Raj Bhavan and Police Control Room are being monitored 24 hours of the trip from the integrated command and control center, while the RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) -The Monitoring System has also been installed. Sinha said that ONGC (Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited) has built a 100 -bed hospital in Chandanwadi and Baltal travel base camps. He said that a board office and passenger residence has been inaugurated in Srinagar. “We will also inaugurate such a center in Baltal on July 4.” Sinha said, “The facilities have been improved for the devotees coming for the Amarnath Yatra since 2022. Both routes leading to the Amarnath cave temple used to be six feet wide, which is now twelve feet wide.
All arrangements for peaceful pilgrimage
More than 4,000 enthusiastic pilgrims left for Amarnath in a convoy of vehicles despite heavy rains between “Bam Bum Bum Bhole” and “Har Har Mahadev”. Chief Secretary Atal Dullu also visited the base camp in Jammu and said that all arrangements have been made for peaceful pilgrimage. Tight security arrangements have been made in Jammu, including the use of technology for multilevel security and monitoring. The security branch of the Jammu and Kashmir Police has held the responsibility of the Bhagwati Nagar Aadhaar camp, while the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) is managing security around the base camp.
