New Delhi. The Delhi High Court, while hearing a petition filed by Dabur India Limited, has directed Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev and his company Patanjali Ayurved not to spread any misleading or derogatory advertisements against Dabur Chyawanprash. Dabur has alleged in his petition that Patanjali Ayurved has done the work of confusing customers by defaming Dabur Chyawanprash in his advertisements. The Delhi High Court has now fixed July 14 for the next hearing of this case.
High Court Justice Mini Pushkarana pronounced this order, accepting the interim applications filed by Dabur India Limited against the advertisements run by Patanjali. Sandeep Sethi, a lawyer of Dabur India Limited, said in the court that Patanjali Ayurveda tries to explain in its advertisements that it is the only company that makes pure and Ayurvedic Chyawanprash. Sethi said that Patanjali is describing Dabur’s Chyawanprash as ordinary to tell her product better. He also claimed that mercury has been found in Patanjali’s Chyawanprash, which is considered harmful for children’s health.
Along with this, Sethi also argued that Patanjali says that she makes Chyawanprash by mixing 51 herbs, while in reality it is not so, not so many herbs have been found in her Chyawanprash. Dabur India’s lawyer said that Dabur has a 61.6 percent stake in the market of Chyawanprash. Due to this, efforts are being made by Patanjali to harm our brand to sell his Chyawanprash. This is a type of business competition. He said that despite the issuance of court summons in December 2024, Patanjali Ayurved broadcast 6182 misleading advertisements against Dabur Chyawanprash.
