Social media accounts of Pakistani actors and cricketers will be banned on the recommendation of the Ministry of Home Affairs

Social media accounts of Pakistani actors and cricketers will still remain blocks in India. Recently, there were reports that some celeb accounts are now accessible to Indian users. According to the information, on Wednesday, some Pakistani artists like Mavra Hocain, Saba Qamar, Ahad Raza Mir, Yumna Zaidi and Danish Timur’s Instagram accounts became easily available to the Indian audience.

This important development created anger on social media. However, these accounts have been banned in India till Thursday morning. On searching your accounts, the users see this message: “The account is not available in India. This is because we have complied with the legal request to ban this material.”

However, entertainment channels like Shahid Afridi, Shoaib Akhtar’s YouTube channel and Green TV Entertainment are still available in India.

However, major Pakistani actors like Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan and Hania Aamir are still not available to Indian users on Instagram, as their accounts are still blocked.

India had banned the social media accounts of many Pakistani actors and cricketers, as they allegedly spread anti -India content. India had run Operation Sindoor, which was started on 7 May in response to a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, killing 26 people. After Operation Sindoor, there was a fierce military conflict between India and Pakistan for about four days.

Earlier in April, India had announced a ban on 16 Pakistani YouTube channels to spread inflammatory and communally sensitive material and misinformation against India, its army and security agencies in the backdrop of the Pahalgam terrorist incident in Jammu and Kashmir.

This important action was taken following the recommendations of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). These channels were found to be broadcasting the wrong and uncomfortable information related to India’s national security, foreign relations and public system.
