Pakistan and Oman have planned to launch a new ferry service towards strengthening mutual maritime cooperation. This service will provide a direct sea route from Oman to Gwadar Port in Pakistan.
The purpose of this initiative:

Bilateral trade and investment increase
Encourage tourism and cultural exchange
South and Central Asian markets make Oman access easier

The proposal came to light in a meeting held on Thursday in Islamabad.
The meeting included:
Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhary – Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs of Pakistan
Fahd bin Suleman Al Kharui – Oman’s ambassador to Pakistan
Economic benefits and probability:
The minister said that this ferry link could open the way for “multi-billion dollar trade, investment and transit revenue”.
In 2024, exports from Pakistan to Oman reached $ 224 million.
Exports, tourism and movement of passengers – all three will have speed and simplicity.

The ferry service will be to carry business containers as well as passengers.
This will make it easier for tourism, family trips, and culture.
Educational cooperation also included:
Pakistan offered special courses and training for Omani students at Pakistan Marine Academy.
Objective: To develop human resources and technical expertise in the fields of marine science and navigation.
