Amarnath Yatra: So far more than 3 and a half lakh devotees have done online registration, RFID tag released due to security

Jammu. The new batch of more than 6,900 devotees left from the Bhagwati Nagar base camp in Jammu amidst heavy rains to visit the Amarnath Cave Temple located in South Kashmir Himalayas. The officers provided this information. He said that since the commencement of the 38 -day annual journey on July 2, about 30,000 devotees have visited the cave temple at 3,880 meters altitude so far.

According to officials, the fourth batch of devotees includes a total of 6,979 pilgrims including 5,196 men, 1,427 women, 24 children, 331 sages and a transgender. All these devotees left in two convoys between 3:30 AM to 4.30 am amid tight security arrangements.

Officials said 4,226 devotees left for 161 vehicles for the Nunwan base camp from the traditional 48 km long Pahalgam route, while 2,753 devotees left 151 vehicles in 151 vehicles, small but inaccessible 14 km long by Baltal route. A total of 24,528 devotees have left for the valley from the Jammu base camp since Wednesday. The journey was formally started by Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha from here.

Amarnath Yatra continues smoothly amidst tight security amidst 26 people being killed in the terrorist attack on April 22 in Pahalgam. The Bhagwati Nagar base camp has been kept in multi -layered security cordon.

So far, more than three and a half lakh devotees have registered online. 34 residential centers have been set up in the city and the tags are being released to the devotees, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tags. 12 counters have also been set up for registration on the spot.
