New Delhi. There is good news for the OBC community from the Supreme Court. Supreme Court CJI BR Gawai has also decided to give the benefit of reservation to the OBC community in the appointment of its non -judicial staff. Notification in this regard has also been issued. Now in the Supreme Court, along with SC, ST, ex -servicemen, dependents of freedom fighters and Divyas, OBC community candidates will also get reservation in non -judicial positions. The OBC community has also been given the benefit of reservation in court jobs by changing Rule 4-A of the Supreme Court Officers and Services (Condition of Service and Conduct) Rule 1961.
In the notification issued to give reservation in the Supreme Court job to the OBC community, it has been clearly written that all these categories will be given reservation as per the orders and notifications issued by the Central Government under the pay scale prescribed for those posts. The Supreme Court had earlier ordered 27 per cent reservation to the OBC community in the Indira Sahni vs Central Government case in 1992. Even after this, the OBC community was not getting reservation in the recruitment of Supreme Court posts. Now, with the decision of reservation for the OBC community in the Supreme Court jobs, all the people will get jobs in future under this quota.
CJI BR Gawai has also decided to implement a clear roster system for SC and ST. The system will be implemented under the 200 point roster system suggested by the Supreme Court in 1995 in RK Sabharwal vs Haryana State Affairs. This roster system will keep balance between normal and reservation classes. In this way, during the tenure of CJI BR Gawai, the Supreme Court has taken important initiative to give social justice. Earlier, CJI BR Gawai had also decided to remove the glass in the Supreme Court gallery. So that the old form of the Supreme Court can be brought back.
