New Delhi. The Gambhra bridge connecting Vadodara and Anand built on the Mahisagar river in Gujarat suddenly broke from the beach. Many vehicles were passing through the bridge when this accident happened. 4 to 5 vehicles fell into the river due to the bridge breaking. 9 people have died in this accident while many others are injured. On receiving information about the incident, the NDRF team, including administrative officials, reached there and started a rescue operation. Efforts are being made to remove trains from the river. The Chief Minister has ordered technical experts to investigate the incident.

There is no strong information about how many people fell into the river in this incident. A search operation is being conducted in the river whether a person has gone away. In the photo that has come out from the scene, a tanker is seen hanging half from the bridge. The incident is reported to be around 8 am. The bridge was built in 1981, although it was opened in 1985. Local citizens say the bridge was in a very shabby condition. Politics has also started regarding this incident.
While sharing the video of the Broken Bridge, the Leader of Opposition in the Gujarat Legislative Assembly, on his social media account, it has been written that the Gambhira bridge was in a bad condition for a long time. Many complaints were made to the administration about this, but no action was taken. The administration neither banned the movement on the bridge nor decided to construct the new bridge due to which the accident happened. On the other hand, due to the breakdown of this bridge, people will now have to make a long round of 40 km to go from Vadodara to Anand or Anand to Vadodara.
