According to the National Earthquake Science Center (NCS), a 4.4 magnitude earthquake occurred in Jhajjar district of Haryana on Thursday morning. Earthquake tremors were felt in Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad and surrounding areas.
After the earthquake, the Delhi Metro trains were stopped for 2-3 minutes as a precaution according to the standard operating procedures (SOPs).
According to NCS, the earthquake struck Jhajjar at a depth of 10 km at 9:04 am.

According to the National Earthquake Science Center (NCS), a similar earthquake of 4.0 magnitude occurred on the Richter scale in Delhi-NCR on 17 February, which was located at a depth of 5 km. Fast tremors were felt at 5:36 am. People came out of their homes and came out of their homes due to the sudden shocks.

According to the Delhi Disaster Management Authority, Delhi is classified into the seismic sector IV. This area is classified as “high damage risk area” and reflects the high probability of medium to high intensity earthquakes.
