Jamnagar, July 11 (IANS). The Ayurveda Education and Research Institute (ITRA) at Jamnagar, Gujarat is working to give traditional medicine to traditional medicine. Dr. Geeta Krishna Gopal Krishna Pillai, head of Traditional Medicine Research and Evidence Unit at the institute, on Friday highlighted India’s role in traditional medicine.
Dr. Pillai told the news agency IANS, “This institute has been created after discussion between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Director General of WHO. It was made because it was made that all the drugs in the world get information about research, progress and use.
He told that a lot of work is yet to be done in this area. We first ignored the region. Now this should not happen. All countries of the world have to collect and work on it. The Government of India and WHO want traditional medicine to be promoted. Rapid work is being done to fulfill this mission. Research is going on for many medicines, which is getting very good results. “
Pillai said that a library is being built, in which a lot of research will be collected on all traditional medicine in the world and their information will be gathered and efforts are being made to make easy access to the people. Right now our work is global. India is supporting it. The research center is currently working at 8-9 people. Our number will be met in the next six months, which will have some 24 people. The Government of India is giving our new center. Our second global summit is going to be held in September 2025, which is in Delhi. In this, leaders of many states will be present along with PM Modi. They will look at the progress of the work. Selected people of the world will come to this summit. In the next 10 years, there will be a lot of progress in traditional medicine all over the world.
Union Minister of State for AYUSH Pratap Rao Jadhav said, “Today we are celebrating our well -established reputation and recognition in the field of research and Ayurveda, which is known by this identity all over India. The institute’s convocation is to be held tomorrow (on Saturday), and today I am present here to preside over the institute’s governing body meeting. The name of Jamnagar will be ahead in the case of Ayurveda.”
