The Mumbai Police on Friday detained a person in connection with the attack on Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan at his Bandra residence. The suspect has been brought to Bandra Police Station for further questioning. Earlier today, the Mumbai Police said that they have taken a portion of the blade extracted from Saif’s back, while efforts to recover the remaining part are still going on.
The Mumbai Police also said that the accused involved in the attack on Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was last seen near Bandra railway station and the search is on to catch him.
The police suspect that after the incident, the suspected person caught the first local train in the morning and went towards Vasai Virar. An official said that Mumbai Police teams are searching in Vasai, Nalasopara and Virar areas.
Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was attacked by an intruder in his 11th floor flat in Bandra at around 2:30 pm on Thursday. The incident occurred when an intruder allegedly clashed with his maid at the actor’s house. When Saif tried to intervene and pacify the situation, it turned into a violent clash, resulting in many wounds with a knife. Saif was immediately rushed to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai after the intruder was stabbed. There he underwent surgery under the supervision of a team of doctors.
According to doctors, Saif suffered a severe spinal cord injury due to the spinal knife stuck in the spinal cord, and surgery was done to remove a 2.5 -inch tall knife from the actor’s spine and repair his ‘spinal fluid’. While Saif is “out of danger”, doctors are keeping an eye on them. After surgery, they were transferred to the ICU, where they are currently recovering. The Mumbai Police lodged an FIR regarding the attack on the actor and recorded the statement of the complainant, who is the actor -employed maid.
The complaint alleged that the attacker demanded one crore rupees from the family. According to the complainant, the intruder allegedly attacked the maid with a hexa blade, which hit both of her hands. The statement said, “He ran towards me with something like a wood in his left hand and a long thin hexa blade in his right hand, during a scuffle he tried to attack me with a blade. When I tried to save myself by pushing my hand forward, something like a knife near my hands and a knife near my hands and my left hand was on the middle finger of my left hand. Want money, I asked how many. Then he said in English ‘one crore’. “
In the recorded statement, the domestic assistant said that the incident took place on January 16 at 2 am. The statement said, “When I saw again, a shadow was seen at the bathroom door and as soon as I bowed down to see who could be inside, a person came out and went towards him (Saif Ali Khan’s) son.”
He further said, “He attacked Saif with a wooden item in his hand and hexa blade. We all ran out of the room and then we all ran towards him. Sleeping Ramesh, Hari, Ramu and Paswan came out after hearing the voice. When we took him again, the door of the room was open.”
The Mumbai Police is currently investigating the case and has formed 20 teams to catch Saif’s intruders who attacked Saif with a knife. Mumbai Police DCP Zone 9 Dixit Gedam, who was part of the team investigating the attack on Saif, said the incident was “attempted robbery” and the accused used a fire -survival ladder to enter Saif Ali Khan’s house.
Adam said, “Last night, the accused used a fire -avoiding ladder to enter Saif Ali Khan’s house. It seems to be a robbery attempt. We are working to arrest the accused. 10 detection teams are working on the case. Bandra police station has been crime.”
