New Delhi. There are only a few months left in the Bihar assembly elections. Earlier, the Election Commission is conducting special intensive revision (SIR) of voters in Bihar. The Election Commission had said on Friday that out of 78969844 voters of Bihar, it had received revision forms of 71271162. This is 94.68 percent of the total voters. Along with this, the Election Commission also gave that data, due to which the sword is seen hanging on more than 36 lakh voters in Bihar so far. If these voters do not give necessary documents to the Election Commission, then it will be difficult to vote in the Bihar assembly elections.
According to the Election Commission, so far, objections have been registered on special intensive revision form of 3686971 voters. These include 200377 flawed voters, 1078285 dead voters, 1816036 voters of more than one place and 592273 people with no documents. According to the Election Commission, out of the form received so far, 4110213 voter revision form is pending. According to the commission, more than 6.85 crore voters have filed special revision form through digital medium. The Election Commission is going to continue special revision of voters till 25 July.
The Election Commission will release a draft voter list in Bihar on 1 August. After this, by August 31, objections and revision papers from voters will be taken. The Election Commission is about to release the revised list of Bihar voters in September. Only voters named in this new voter list will get the right to vote in Bihar assembly elections. Opposition parties, including RJD and Congress, are opposing special revision of voters in Bihar. At the same time, it has been reported from the first Election Commission sources that illegal infiltrators of Bangladesh, Myanmar and Nepal have been detected in Bihar during special revision of voters. In such a situation, when the election campaign in Bihar is intensified, the issue of illegal infiltration can also gain momentum. The BJP has already alleged that a large number of illegal infiltrators are inhabited in the Seemanchal area of Bihar.
