Former Chief Minister of Rajasthan Vasundhara Raje offered prayers on the auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti at the famous Kale Hanuman temple in Jaipur. The specialty of this temple is the black colored statue of Bajrangbali installed here, which is considered unique and religious across the country. On the day of Makar Sankranti, the atmosphere of the temple is extremely cheerful with the faith and devotion of the devotees.
The temple Mahant welcomed Vasundhara Raje by wearing a traditional scarf while congratulating Vasundhara Raje on Makar Sankranti. Along with this, Mahanta also described the famous chaupai of the temple “Lal Badan Lal Lam, Doji Dharti Lal Langur …”, which is dedicated to Lord Hanuman. This quadruped describes the red color of Bajrangbali and the glory of their thunderbolt, which kills demons.
Legend of black Hanuman
Located near Hawa Mahal in Jaipur, this temple is known as Kale Hanuman Temple. The black colored statue of Hanuman installed here is associated with a unique mythology. According to the legend, when Hanuman ji completed his education, he asked Guru Suryadev to ask for Guru Dakshina. Suryadev told him that his son Shani Dev does not believe at his request and Hanuman ji would have to do the work of calling him back.
Hanuman ji went to Shani Dev and tried to convince him, but Shani Dev gets angry and puts his kudrishti on Hanuman ji, which makes Hanuman ji’s color black. However, this vision did not affect and Hanuman ji was successful in convincing Shani Dev. Pleased, Shani Dev promised that whoever worships Hanuman ji on Saturday, will not have any disaster.
Temple’s special recognition and miraculous eyes
A unique and famous belief of the Kale Hanuman temple is that miraculous eye-fibers are formed here with the blessings of Lord Bajrangbali. This eye cord is specially made for children’s health. It is believed that wearing this eye-fiber improves the health of children and avoids diseases.
Due to this special reason, people from all over the country and abroad come here to make this eye-fiber for their children. At the same time, devotees come from far and wide to see Hanuman ji and experience the sanctity of the temple.
