New Delhi. The month of Sawan is going on and like every year, the Kavad Yatra is also going on with full enthusiasm this year. The number of women in the Kavad Yatra is also increasing in the last few years. In view of this, special arrangements have been made for women kawandis in the national capital of the country, Delhi. Pink camps set up for the first time in Delhi have been set up in which only women kanwadis are stopped. Women are also operating this pink kanwar camp. At the same time, women Kanwar travelers are appreciating this unique initiative.
Pink Kanwar camps have been set up at two places in Delhi. A pink camp is being run by the Tattva Seva Samiti at GTB Enclave E-Packet in Yamunapar. At the same time, the second camp has been organized by the Bharat Mata Mandir Trust near the Bank Colony Bus Stand on Nand Nagri Main Wazirabad Road. The tent that has been installed in this camp is of pink color so that it is easy to identify it. Not only this, the women volunteer in the camp are also wearing pink color clothes. There is a system of toilets and bathrooms in these pink camps as well as women’s kavadis stayed at night.
Medicine desk has also been made in both pink camps where medicines for women kawandis, ointment for ulcers lying on their feet etc. are also available. Along with this, a police force is also deployed for security, in which especially women policemen have been on duty. Although the number of women staying in these camps is not very high, it is being praised by women who are reaching these camps. As the number of people bringing Kavad is increasing, the number of women kavandis in these camps is now expected to increase.
