Patna. Before the Bihar assembly elections, the Election Commission is conducting special intensive revision of voters. The Election Commission has released the latest figures related to special revision of Bihar voters. According to the Election Commission, forms have been taken under special revision from 98.01 voters of Bihar till Wednesday. Of these, 90.89 percent of the form has been digitized. The Election Commission says that it has not received special revision forms from 15 lakh voters in Bihar. Bihar has a total of 78969844 voters. The Election Commission in Bihar will continue the special revision campaign of voters till 25 July.
The Election Commission started special revision of voters in Bihar from 24 June 2025. Since then, he has identified 20 lakh dead voters till 23 July. The Election Commission has said that 28 lakh voters of Bihar have permanently changed the place. That is, they no longer live in Bihar. Special revision has revealed that 7 lakh voters are named in more than one constituencies. At the same time, 1 lakh voters have not been ascertained yet. The Election Commission has said that it has not yet received the filled forms of special revision from 15 lakh voters.
Opposition parties, including RJD and Congress, are strongly opposed to special revision of voters in Bihar by the Election Commission. They allege that this is a conspiracy to cut the vote. The case has been heard in the Supreme Court and then to be held on 28 July. The Election Commission has told the Supreme Court that it has the right to check the citizenship of voters under Articles 324 and 326 of the Constitution. In such a situation, the opposition parties are making a ruckus by only protests and Parliament as well as the matter in the Bihar Legislative Assembly. Opposition parties have given notice in Parliament to discuss special revision of voters in Bihar, but the government believes that the Election Commission is doing this work and the government cannot say anything on its work. In such a situation, it does not seem possible to discuss this in Parliament.
