New Delhi. The Awards ceremony of the Road Safety Awareness Summer Camp-2025 was organized by the Delhi Traffic Police’s Road Safety Cell at the Adarsh Auditorium located at Police Headquarters today. Ajay Chaudhary Special Commissioner of Police/Traffic was present as the chief guest at this program. At the same time, the presence of Additional Commissioner of Police Satyaveer Katara and other officers also adorned the program. During the program, Special Commissioner of Police Ajay Chaudhary taught the students to follow the traffic rules, spread awareness among their colleagues and be cautious and responsible while walking on the road. He said that children can build a safe and better society with the right values and etiquette, being the future of our country. He appreciated the efforts of the Road Safety Cell to educate young citizens about traffic rules and road safety norms.
The Delhi Traffic Police had organized 12 batches of summer camps for school students from class 6 to 12 from May 19 to June 6, 2025. Bal Bhavan, Baba Khadak Singh Marg, Punjabi Bagh and Roshanara Bagh, these four traffic training parks were organized together weekly batch, in which about 6000 students participated. Delhi Traffic Police has been organizing a road safety awareness summer camp for school students during summer holidays every year since 2015. The main objective of this event is to help students make meaningful use of their holidays as well as provide some lifestyle techniques required for the development of their overall personality. Students participating in the event were given interactive and practical information on the aspects of road safety, traffic management, self -defense, first aid and CPR administration and yoga. During this period, road safety -based competitions such as quiz, painting and traffic exercises were also organized. The final round of the competition was organized among the first prize winners of all its 12 batch and the overall winners of the three competitions were honored by the chief guest during the award ceremony held today. Additionally, the chief guest was also honored by the stake companies and faculty members.
These types of workshops help the youth understand the results from negligent works and instill confidence between the youth and the law enforcement. As a result of such events, awareness of road safety and traffic rules among adolescents in the national capital Delhi has increased. In July 2024, 287 such incidents came to light, which decreased to only 89 in July 2025. This deficiency has come to a large extent due to the success of road safety awareness workshops held all over Delhi. A special newsletter has also been launched to share good works, activities and important updates of Delhi Traffic Police. The newsletter was also unveiled by Chief Guest Ajay Chaudhary. On this occasion, cultural activities based on road safety such as qawwali, rap songs, street plays etc. were also organized. The main attraction of the program was the rap song and mimicry presented by Divyang children. Meanwhile, Additional Police Commissioner/Traffic Satyaveer Katara greeted all the participants and award winners.
