Kargil Victory Day reminds us of the unique courage of the brave sons of Mother India: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday greeted the Kargil Victory Day and recalled the sacrifice of the soldiers fighting with courage and valor in the Kargil war. He said that the sacrifice given by the soldiers will continue to inspire every generation.

PM Modi posted on X, “Heartfelt greetings to the countrymen on Kargil Victory Day. This occasion reminds us of the unique courage and valor of the brave sons of Mother India who dedicated their lives to protect the pride of the nation. Their passion to sacrifice himself for the motherland will inspire every generation.”

President Draupadi Murmu also wished on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Day on Saturday.

The President tweeted, “On the occasion of Kargil Victory Day, I pay my heartfelt tribute to the brave soldiers who sacrificed my life for the motherland. This day is a symbol of the extraordinary bravery, courage and determination of our soldiers. Their dedication and supreme sacrifice to the nation will always inspire the countrymen.”

On Friday, the families of the supreme sacrifices of military personnel who made the supreme sacrifice during the 1999 Kargil war gathered at the Lamochen View Point of Dras to pay homage to the heroes of the war.

The families of the martyred soldiers shared their emotional memories at this grand ceremony organized to honor the bravery and sacrifice of the Indian armed forces. Rajesh, the brother of a soldier martyred on Tiger Hill, recalled the poignant memories written in his brother’s diary.

Rajesh said, “My brother lost his life while serving the country during the war on Tiger Hill. When we got the news of the war, we wrote a letter to him, but he told us that he was not involved in the war. After reading his diary, we came to know that he was in war and he had lied to save us from worry.

Another member of the family, Surekha Shinde, honored his brother and expressed pride and gratitude, who served in the army for five years before the Kargil war. He said, “My brother was in the army for five years before the war started. I am proud to come to this place and I thank the army for this invitation.”

The gathering held at Lamochen View Point reminded the courage and selflessness of Indian soldiers during the Kargil struggle.

Every year on 26 July, Kargil Victory Day, which is inscribed in the heart of the nation, is celebrated with pride and serious memory. This is the day of 1999 when India successfully completed Operation Vijay, recovering strategic peaks from the capture of Pakistani intruders.

The Kargil war is a saga of strong political, military and diplomatic actions. This war will always be remembered for its strategic and strategic wonder as well as a self-determined national restraint policy to limit the war to the Kargil-Pakistan regions and the quickly implemented military strategy of the three armies.

The Kargil war lasted for more than 60 days and ended with India’s stunning victory on 26 July 1999. The Indian armed forces successfully captured the high posts that were betrayed by Pakistani soldiers in the winter months.

According to the Indian Air Force, the Kodnaam Operation White Sea for the Indian Air Force air operations during the 1999 Kargil War was leading in many ways and proved that air power could decisively change the direction of war without crossing international borders.

This operation was launched on May 26, 1999, which marks the first massive use of air power in Kashmir after 1971 and displays the effectiveness of the use of limited air property in local conflict.
