The Congress on Monday criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for relations with China. Jairam Ramesh said that India is paying the price of clean chit given by PM Modi to China today.
Explain that this criticism was done at a time when Chinese Foreign Minister Wang reached India for talks.
Ramesh accused PM Modi of weakening India’s position by giving China a “clean chit” in his statement on June 19, 2020 after the Galwan clashes, in which he said, “Neither has anyone entered the border, nor has anyone entered.”
It is noteworthy that 20 Indian soldiers were killed during a clash in Galwan on June 19, 2020.
Jairam said in the post, “India is publicly paying the price of a clean chit given by Prime Minister Modi to China on June 19, 2020, when he announced that” no one has entered our border, nor has any penetration. “This was completely mocked and insulted by 20 Indian soldiers martyrdom in Galwan in June 2020.
Jairam Ramesh accused China of direct assistance to Pakistan during Operation Sindoor earlier this year and highlighted the strategic and safety threats generated by China’s actions on India’s borders and rivers.
The post reads, “Only three months ago, China gave full military support to Pakistan during Operation Sindoor, provided J-10C fighter aircraft and PL-15 air-to-air missile-like arms systems and many types of missiles and drones.”
It said, “According to Deputy Army Chief Lieutenant General Rahul R Singh, China provided live intelligence against India, which also said on July 4, 2025 that China was one of the” enemies “whom India was fighting during Operation Sindoor. China has also launched a 60 GHzog dam on the river Yarlung Tsangpo.
Criticizing the government’s 2024 military withdrawal agreement with China, Ramesh alleged that the Indian government agreed to ‘military return’ against the army’s will to maintain the status quo of April 2020.
Despite the Indian Army’s clear desire to return to the April 2020 status quo, the government agreed to “military return” with China in October 2024, under which the Indian patrol will require China’s consent to reach its patrol points in Depsang, Demchok and Chumar.
India has agreed to create a “buffer zone” in Galwan, Hot Spring and Pangong Tso which are located within the Indian claim line. Jairam Ramesh claimed in a post, “It is far from the status quo before the Chinese invasion.”
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said in an official statement on Saturday that Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Ji will visit India on 18-19 August and talk to National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval on “Seema Question”.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will also hold a bilateral meeting with the Chinese Foreign Minister.
The Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement, “At the invitation of National Security Advisor Mr. Ajit Doval, Chinese Communist Party’s Polit Bureau member and Chinese Foreign Minister His Excellency Mr. Wang Yi will visit India on 18-19 August 2025.
