Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said on Tuesday that there is no flood-like situation in the city and the water level of Yamuna will be reduced in a day or two.
Gupta visited the low -lying areas around the Yamuna market, where water has entered the houses. He spoke to the residents passing through the submerged roads.
The Chief Minister told reporters, “We requested him to go to schools (residents), where relief camps were organized and food and medical assistance has been arranged.” He said that there is no electricity. Therefore, we have arranged for solar energy -powered ‘floodlights’ so that there is no problem at night.’
The water level of Yamuna river on the old railway bridge in Delhi reached 205.79 meters at eight in the morning, which is slightly less than 206 meters.
The water level of the river reached 205.55 meters on Monday afternoon, which crossed the danger mark 205.33 meters and the water level has been increasing since then.
Gupta said, “The water is flowing forward and has not stopped. The water level has increased, but will be reduced in a day or two. There is no flood -like situation in the national capital. ”
After crossing the danger mark of Yamuna on Monday, Gupta assured that there will be no widespread floods in the national capital, it is a safe area and any kind of waterlogging will be limited to floodlines.
