Lucknow, Amrit Views: The state government has started a special transport service for devotees going to Gaya (Bihar) for pindadan and tarpan during Pitrupaksha. Bus services from Sarnath, Varanasi to Bodh Gaya Bihar will be operated under interstate bus operations. Similarly, buses have been started from Lucknow to Muzaffarpur and from Meerut to Sonipat (Haryana). These buses will operate seven days a week.
This will be the route, the fare is also fixed
Transport Minister (Independent Charge) Daya Shankar Singh said that the roadways service will reach Chandauli-Sasaram-Aurangabad-Sharaghati-Gaya (Bihar) by operating from Varanasi (Cantt). After walking from Varanasi station at 8 pm, the said settled, will reach Bihar at 4 pm. The fare from Varanasi to Bihar has been fixed at Rs 465. Similarly, Muzaffarpur’s fare from Lucknow (Alambagh bus terminal) has been fixed at Rs 862. This bus will run from Lucknow at 2 pm and reach Barabanki, Ayodhya, Gorakhpur, Tamkuhi, Gopalganj and reach Muzaffarpur at 4 am the next day. Buses running from Meerut to Sonepat will make 3 rounds a day. This bus will go from Baraut depot to Sonepat at 6:30 am, 10:50 am and 15:50 pm.
The Transport Minister said that the operation of the said bus will reduce the dependence of devotees on private vehicles. The expenditure will be reduced and time will also be saved. He told that if everything goes well, the bus service can be regularized.
