Documents of 98.2 percent voters were received in SIR process in Bihar: Election Commission

The Election Commission said on Sunday that 98.2 percent of voters’ documents have been received in Bihar, while the state has eight days left in the period of special intensive revision (SIR) claims, objections and documents of the voter list.

According to the press note of the ECI, according to information received from the office of Bihar Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), from 24 June to 24 August, 2025, in 60 days, 98.2 percent persons have submitted their documents.

This means that on average about 1.64 percent voters per day. As of 1 September, there are eight days left, and only 1.8 percent of the voters are left to submit the document.

With the help of BLO and volunteers, the work of collecting their documents continues. Thus, like the collection of calculation forms, the work related to document collection is also likely to be completed ahead of time.

According to the SIR’s 24 June orders, the documents are also being verified by the concerned 243 ERO and 2.976 AEROS.

Out of 7.24 crore voters included in the draft list, 0.16 percent claims and objections have been received so far. The Election Commission said that 10 from the BLA of 12 recognized political parties of Bihar, the persons who are not voters of that constituency have received zero and 1,21,143 claims and objections have been received by voters within their assembly constituency.

According to the ECI, 3,28,847 new voters, who have turned 18 or older on July 1 or will be aged 18 or older on 1 October, have also submitted their form 6 and manifesto.

The SIR of Bihar is at the scheduled time. Decisions on all claims and objections received and verification of eligibility documents will be completed by the concerned EROS/AEROS by 25 September and after the final investigation, the final voter list will be published on 30 September.
