Every year a fair is held in his name, which is known as Kumbh of Marwar and pedestrians come from every part of Rajasthan to attend this fair, so let’s know the amazing story of Ramdevji Maharaj becoming Baba Ramdev.
Baba Ramdev Pir was born in a place called Runicha in a place called Runicha near the famous village of Pokaran in West Rajasthan on the day of Bhado Shukla Paksha Duj in 1409. His father was Tanwar dynasty Rajput and Runicha ruler Ajmal Ji Tanwar and his mother’s name was Manade. There is a legend about the birth of Baba Ramdev that his father Ajmal Ji Maharaj used to rule Pokhran and its surrounding area. Maharaj Ajmal ji was at that time due to which he was very sad. Apart from this, the terror of a demon named Bhairav was spread in Pokhran region. Maharaj Ajmal ji was failing to protect his subjects from Bhairav demon.
King Ajmal ji used to donate charity for the attainment of son, offer food to the saints, perform yajna, and worshiped Dwarkanath every day. In this way, King Ajmal ji reached Dwarka ji thinking of killing the demon. Where Ajmal ji had a vision of God, seeing the tears in the eyes of the king, God wipes his tears with his father and said, O Bhaktraj, I do not cry, I know all your sorrow. I am very happy to see your devotion, what do you want, I will fulfill your every wish. Pleased with the immense grace of God, Maharaj said, “Lord, if you are happy with my devotion, then I want a son like you, that is, you will have to come to my house as a son and you will have to establish religion by killing Bhairav demon.”
Then Lord Dwarkanath said, O devotee! Go, I give you a boon that your first son’s name will be Viramdev, then Ajmal ji said, “What is the younger and what big in a son, then God said that I will come to your house as another son. Ajmal ji said, O Lord, if you come to my house, what will we know that God has come to my house, then Dwarkanath said that the night I will come to the house, all the temples of your kingdom will start ringing automatically, whatever water will be in the palace will turn into milk and the feet of Kumkum will be seen from the main door to the place of birth and I will also be heard from the name of Kumkum.
The cosmic and supernatural miracles, powers of Ramdev ji’s birth are widely found in his hymns, folk songs and folklore. One day Baba Ramdev ji was playing with his colleagues with the ball, while playing, he threw the ball so far that all the colleagues expressed their inability to bring the ball that you would have to bring the ball, then Baba Ramdev came to Sathlemer on the valley of the present Pokaran on the pretext of bringing the ball, but his main objective was to liberate the people from the atrocities of Bhairav demons. Seeing the child form of Baba Ramdev ji alone on the deserted hill, Balinath ji, who was dumped there, said that where have you come from where you have come from, go back, here Bhairav demon will come here and eat you. Then Baba Ramdev ji prayed for staying there at night, then Balinath ji covered the old doll in his hut and asked the child Ramdev to sleep quietly.
At the time of midnight, the Bhairav demon came there and told Balinath ji that you have a human being, I am smelling human, then Balinath ji told Bhairav that here you have not left a bird for twelve-twelve kos, where did the man come from. Due to the order of Guru Balinath to sleep quietly, Baba Ramdev said nothing, but shook the Gudri with his foot, then Bhairav’s eyes fell on the doll and he started pulling the doll. But when Baba’s miracle started growing like Draupadi’s rip, Balinathji Maharaj thought that it is not a normal child, there is definitely a divine child, while pulling the Gudri, Bhairav started running away from the panting, then Baba Ramdev got up and took the command of Balinathji Maharaj and killed the people from his terror.
Baba Ramdevji, who killed Bhairav demon, dug a well from the cave of Bhairav demon and settled the village Runicha village. The churches of Baba Ramdevji’s miracles started spreading like sunlight far and wide. At that time, the staunch creed was also at its peak due to the authority of the Mughal Empire over India. According to legend, five Pir came from Mecca to test the powers of Ramdev. Ramdevji welcomed him and urged him to have food. The Piris refused, saying that they only eat in their private utensils, which are currently in maize. Ramdev smiled on this and told him that see your utensils are coming and when the Piri saw his utensils coming flying from the corn. Satisfied with Ramdevji’s abilities and powers, the Piris bowed to him and named him Rama Sa Pir. Putting out of Ramdev’s powers, the five Piris decided to stay with him. Even today, the tomb of the five Pirs is located near the tomb of Ramdev. Baba Ramdevji is also adorable to Muslims and Muslims are ibabat by the name of Ramsa Pir or Ramshah Pir.
Baba Ramdev Ji was married in Samvat 1426 with the daughter of Thakur Dal Ji Sodh of Amar Kot. Ramdevji had two sons, named Sadoji and Devoji. The Runicha well built 2 km from the Ramdevra temple and a small Ramdev temple is also visible. It is said that when Rani Netalde was thirsty, Ramdev ji broke the water from the tip of the spear and took out the water and since then the site was known as “Ranisa Ka Kua”. In the course of time, it was transformed into “Runicha well”.
Ramdev believed in the equality of all human beings, whether it is high or low, rich or poor. He helped Dalits by giving them fruits as per their wish. They are often depicted on horseback. His followers are spread from Rajasthan, Gujarat, Haryana, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Mumbai to Sindh. His temples are located in the Masuria hill Jodhpur, Biratiya, Beawar, Surtakheda Chitodgarh and Chhota Ramdevra Gujarat including Bhilwara in India. Baba Ramdev gave Bhadrapada Shukla Ekadashi V.S. On 1442, he took a living tomb in his place.
