Srinagar. The annual Amarnath Yatra began on Thursday amid unprecedented security with the bomb bum bomb and Har Har Mahadev’s Jayaghosh. Officials said that the first batch of pilgrims from the base camps at Baltal and Nunwan left for starting a journey to the holy cave temple in South Kashmir Himalayas. More than 5000 passengers left in the morning, traditional 48 km long in Anantnag district and 14 km in Ganderbal district, “Bam Bum Bum Bhole” and “Har Har Mahadev” from Baltal Marg in Ganderbal district.
Giving information, the officials said that the 38-day pilgrimage for the Amarnath Cave Temple located at an altitude of 3,880 meters in South Kashmir started from the traditional 48 km long Nunwan-Pahalgam road and small (14 km) but more steep climbing Baltal Marg in the traditional 48 km-long Nunwan-Pahalgam Marg and Ganderbal district in Anantnag district.
Men, women and saints left from Baltal base camp

Devotees welcomed strongly
The pilgrims reached the Kashmir Valley in the afternoon where the administration and the local people welcomed him strongly. The pilgrims will offer prayers at the Amarnath temple, where the Shivling made of snow appears naturally.
Strict security arrangements have been made for the smooth operation of the journey. Thousands of soldiers of police, Central Reserve Police Force, Indo-Tibetan Border Police and other paramilitary forces have been deployed to ensure security. The pilgrimage will conclude on August 9. This year’s Amarnath pilgrimage is taking place over two months after the deadly terrorist attack at Basarn Maidan in Pahalgam, in which 25 tourists and a local person were killed.
