Jammu. On Sunday, the 12th group of 7,049 pilgrims left for the Bhagwati Nagar base camp in Jammu to visit the holy Amarnath cave temple located in the Himalayas of South Kashmir. The officials shared this information.
According to officials, the batch includes 1,423 women, 31 children and 136 sages. These pilgrims left in two different convoys in the morning and left for the Baltal base camps of Anantnag in two different convoys. A total of 4,158 passengers are moving towards Pahalgam route in the convoy of 148 vehicles, while 2,891 passengers are traveling on the Baltal route with 138 vehicles.
The 38 -day annual Amarnath Yatra, which started from July 3, will end on the day of Rakshabandhan, on August 9. So far, about 1.83 lakh pilgrims have visited the holy cave.
