Jammu. A new batch of 6482 pilgrims for the annual Amarnath Yatra in Jammu and Kashmir, along with the shouts of ‘Bam Bum Bhole’, left for Baba Barfani from the passenger residence in Bhagwati Nagar in Jammu on Friday morning. Officials told here today that the pilgrims left for 268 trains from the Jammu base camp. He said, “A new batch of 6,482 pilgrims this morning left for the Sri Amarnath Yatra cave temple in Kashmir amidst tight security arrangements.
According to officials, 4129 pilgrims left for Pahalgam in 268 vehicles and 2353 pilgrims left for Baltal. The fleet of the vehicles included light and heavy motor vehicles. Significantly, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha flagged off the first batch of pilgrims from here on July 2. The Amarnath Yatra will start from 03 July this year and will run till 09 August. This journey will be of a total of 38 days.
