Srinagar. Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday formally started the annual Shri Amarnathji Yatra and visited ‘Baba Barfani’ in the holy cave. The 4 -day annual Amarnath Yatra will run from July 3 this year from July 3 to August.
Sinha said in his post on ‘X’, “Har Har Har Mahadev. Baba Barfani and made a formal start of the annual Shri Amarnathji Yatra with ‘First Pooja’ in the holy cave. Baba Amarnath ji should maintain his divine blessings.
He said that Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) and administration have improved the facilities of pilgrims and Jammu and Kashmir Police, Army, CRPF and CAPF have made strong security arrangements. Police and paramilitary forces are working with full loyalty, dedication, cooperation and clear objectives for a safe pilgrimage starting from July 3.
He said, “The invaluable contribution of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, civil society and all service providers has always been extraordinary. I am confident that significant improvements in facilities and services will ensure that this year’s pilgrimage is memorable and spiritually satisfying for all devotees.” Earlier, the Lieutenant Governor conducted a terrestrial inspection of the Disaster Management and Passenger Residence Complex of Amarnath Ji Shrine Board at Baltal in Ganderbal district of Central Kashmir.
He found out the progress of the work being done on the site and instructed the officials to complete the infrastructure projects being developed to increase facilities for the pilgrims of Shri Amarnathji Yatra on time. He also interacted with the members of the task force and the BRO employees engaged in improving and maintaining the travel track.
The Lieutenant Governor was accompanied by SJM Gilani, MD J&K Police Housing Corporation Bhandari, Principal Secretary to Lieutenant Governor and CEO of Amarnathji Shrine Board Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir VK Birdi, IGP Kashmir Jatin Kishore, Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal and other senior officers were present.
