Jammu. August 1, due to bad weather, the Amarnath Yatra from Jammu was postponed for the second consecutive day on Friday. Giving information, the officials said that no new batch of pilgrims was allowed to go towards the Amarnath Cave Temple located in South Kashmir Himalayas. Pilgrims from outside for the yatra have been held at the Bhagwati Nagar base camp with high security for further visit to Pahalgam and Baltal base camps after reviewing the weather conditions.
Since the 38 -day pilgrimage started on July 3 from the valley, more than four lakh pilgrims have visited the cave temple at 3,880 meters altitude. The Yatra Information Officer said, “The journey from Jammu to Amarnath Cave Temple was adjourned today.
This step has been taken in view of bad weather. No new batch was allowed from Jammu to Amarnath. “This is the second time that the yatra was postponed from Jammu before the journey was canceled on July 17 due to heavy rains in both the base camps of Kashmir.
