Jammu. The annual Amarnath Yatra in Jammu and Kashmir will start from July 03 and will conclude on the day of Raksha Bandhan on 09 August. Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha chaired the 48th board meeting of the Amarnath Shrine Board at Raj Bhavan here on Wednesday. In the meeting, Swami Awadheshanand Giri Ji Maharaj, DC Raina, Kailash Mehra Sadhu, K.K. N. Rai, Pitambar Lal Gupta, Dr. Shailesh Raina and Professor Vishwam Shastri, Shrine Board members attended.
The board proposed various measures to make the facilities better for the devotees during the journey starting simultaneously from both the Pahalgam in Anantnag district and the traditional Baltal of Ganderbal district. In view of the increasing arrival of pilgrims for Amarnath Yatra-2025, the meeting discussed measures to register pilgrims on the spot at several places including Naugam and Katra railway stations, to increase the capacity of staying at the centers at Jammu, city and other places, operate passenger facilities for e-KYC, RFID cards, Naugam and Katra railway stations.
According to the requirement, these facilities were also discussed in Baltal, Pahalgam, Nunwan, Pantha Chowk Nagar, in the context of appropriately increasing these facilities. The Lieutenant Governor emphasized the need to ensure adequate arrangements and expected facilities at various places on the route of the journey. He also called for increasing capacity in Passenger Niwas, Pantha Chowk, Nagar.
Projects released in the meeting, spreading information related to travel, insurance cover to passengers, service providers, ponies, expansion of online services by Shrine Board, widening of travel tracks and maintenance measures to reduce congestion in the holy cave and lower holy cave area, disaster preparation and mitigation measures, heli services, medical care facilities, adequate provisions, adequate provisions, measures and prohibition facilities, measures and security facilities, security and services, security and services and services Discussions were held regarding the digital prepaid system to rent.
On this occasion, Sinha congratulated the members of the board and thanked his valuable contribution and continuous guidance in the successful operation of the journey.
