According to the Panchang, Bhadrapad month is going on right now and the Amavasya of this month is known as Bhadrapad Amavasya, which is falling today i.e. on Monday, 2 September. Due to Amavasya falling on Monday, it is known as Somvati Amavasya. On this day, bathing, giving donations, worshiping and chanting are considered auspicious.
It is believed that performing Shradh Tarpan and Pinddaan of ancestors on Amavasya Tithi brings blessings of ancestors. Along with this, there is also a provision of worshiping Lord Shiva, Mata Panarvati, Mata Lakshmi and Shri Hari Vishnu on Amavasya Tithi. If one takes a bath in the holy river Ganga on this day, all sins are destroyed. Apart from this, worshipping Peepal tree and doing 108 Parikramas on this day is also considered good. Amavasya Tithi is considered good for charity works. It is believed that doing so brings happiness, peace and prosperity in the family. But along with this, there are some such works which are considered best to do on Somvati Amavasya. By doing this, one gets the blessings of the gods and goddesses and happiness and prosperity come in life.

Let us tell you that today on Somvati Amavasya, the seeker must perform a holy puja ritual to get spiritual benefits. Start the ritual with a holy bath in a holy river or at home. After which worship Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu and ancestors in a proper manner. Devotees must perform tarpan for their ancestors on this day. On this day, offer a mixture of water, sesame and milk to the ancestors.
Offer flowers and incense to God and then perform charity rituals. On this day, donate food, money, clothes, food and other necessary things to the poor and needy according to your wish and ability. It is believed that doing certain tasks on this day brings divine blessings. On Somvati Amavasya, one should also feed grains to crows and fishes. Doing so brings virtue and ends the sorrows of life.
