On the auspicious occasion of Kartik Purnima, Eleventh Dev Diwali Mahotsav was organized under the auspices of Pratibha Sanrakshan Seva Trust on Friday near the holy banks of Saryu River and Shri Mari Mata Temple. The program was inaugurated by Payagpur MLA Subhash Tripathi by lighting the lamp. It was presided over by the Trust’s state patron Ghanshyam Bajpai and state president Dr. Devendra Kumar Upadhyay. Katha Vyas Pandit Shivvansh Shastri enthralled the devotees by singing bhajans.

Addressing the officials and devotees of the organization, Dr. Pragya Tripathi said that just as a lamp destroys the dense darkness, in the same way we should become a lamp and destroy the darkness of casteism, classism, regionalism, languageism and ignorance spread among every section of the society. State President of the Trust, Dr. Devendra Upadhyay said that the organization works in many areas like education, health, environment, cow service, propagation of Sanatan culture, the organization officials had started Dev-Diwali from 2014, which continues even today. All the gods go to Lord Shiva and request him to kill this demon.

Lord Shiva saved the gods and humans by killing Tripurasura. From that time the gods had organized Dev Diwali. Since then this tradition has been going on in Kashi, which is being given concrete form in Bahraich also. Appealing to the people of the district, he said that maximum numbers should participate in this program so that the Devdiwali festival can be expanded in the entire district.
