Barabanki, Amrit Vichar. The markets have been decorated with Laddu Gopal’s clothes and other items on the occasion of Janmashtami festival. The crowd of people has also started increasing for shopping. Perfumes, beds-sofas, flutes, swings and other items made from different types of flowers and herbs are also available in the market.
The festival of Janmashtami will be celebrated on 26th August. Preparations for the worship of Lord Krishna’s child form Laddu Gopal are going on in full swing. Special decorations are being done in homes, prayers are being offered and items for Laddu Gopal are being purchased in the market.
Shopkeeper Keshav told that different types of swings are available for Laddu Gopal. Some are in traditional designs, while some have come for sale with a modern touch. Apart from this, people are also buying sofa sets, colourful dresses and velvet clothes. On Friday, women bought beds, mattresses, crowns, flutes, clothes etc. for Shri Krishna in the markets. Fancy dresses are being sold in the market from Rs.100 to Rs.1500, beds from Rs.200 to Rs.800, mattresses from Rs.100 to Rs.1000, silver crown from Rs.200 to Rs.2000, silver flute from Rs.200 to Rs.1500.
Preparations begin with painting of temples
The work of cleaning and painting has started at the Radha Krishna temple located in the city’s Police Line, the temple located in Patangwali Gali, and other Radha Krishna temples across the district. In the Police Line, the entire temple premises is decorated in a grand manner with colourful lights. Rangoli is made by male and female personnel along with Bhajan Kirtan. Various tableaux are also prepared by calling artists from outside. A fair-like scene is seen here on this day. Besides this, in Fatehpur, Ramnagar, Sirauli Gauspur, Haidergarh and Ramsanehi Ghat tehsil areas, the festival of Janmashtami is celebrated with great pomp and devotion in temples and homes from the city to the rural areas.
Halchhat festival will be celebrated tomorrow
Wishing for a long life of their son, mothers will observe fast on Sunday and perform worship on the occasion of Hal Chhath festival. Crowds of women are seen at Dhanokhar square of the city to buy worship material for the festival. Shops selling Til rice, Dona and other worship material are decorated. There are reports of it being celebrated on the previous Saturday at some places.
