It is believed that on the day of Bhai Dooj, if brothers and sisters sit on the banks of Yamuna and eat together, then it is very auspicious and beneficial. This festival, which comes two days after Diwali, is also called Yama Dwitiya.
There is also a tradition of worshiping Yama, the god of death, on this day. They are also worshiped with rituals.
