Lucknow, Amrit Views: A crowd of devotees thronged the Shani Sanskari Amavasya in the Dham of Maa Chandrika Devi and Barahi Devi temples located on the banks of Gomti river in Kathwara village of Bakshi’s pond area. In the big evening, people enjoyed the fair by visiting and worshiping.
Ramkripal Singh, vice -president of Maa Chandrika Devi Temple Fair Committee, said that lakhs of devotees from far flung areas reach the temple for darshan and worship on Navratri. It has more number of VIP visitors. This time VIP darshan will not be done. Rajesh Singh Chauhan, a member of the fair committee, said that on Amavasya, priest Naresh Saini decorated the court of Goddess Maa with various flowers. The doors of the temple were opened at 4 am. Mangala Aarti of Goddess from 101 Jyoti will be performed on Navratri. Lakhs of devotees visited the mother till 10 pm. ACP Amol Murkut said that strict security arrangements have been made in the temple premises. PSC force will also be deployed.
A large number of devotees arrived at the Barahi Devi temple on Amavasya. Devotees saw and worshiped Barahi Devi after taking a dip of faith. The temple continued to echo with shouts all day. During this time, devotees shopped at the fair in the temple premises. Bought the material of Chunri, Coconut, Laddu Gopal, Kalash and Fasting for Navratri.
Oil, jaggery and sesame offered to Shani Dev
Amrit Vichar, Lucknow: On Shani Amavasya, the lines of devotees were started in the Shani temples of the city from dawn. Devotees offered oil, clums, sesame. Water was also offered to Peepal. The Amavasya falling on Saturday is called Shani Amavasya. On this day, worship of Karmaphal donor and god of justice, Shani Dev, has special significance. It is considered the most auspicious for worship. Devotees offered mustard oil to Shani Dev and lit a lamp. Also chanting ॐ Shana Shyashrai Namah.
