Chanakya Niti: A person comes alone in this world and goes alone after death. After birth, a person walks on the path of Dharma or Adharma. Here Dharma means virtue and Adharma means sin. Acharya Chanakya has said in a Niti that a person alone bears the fruits of sin and virtue. Know what this Chanakya Niti says-
In the fifth chapter of Acharya Chanakya’s Niti, the verse is mentioned – ‘Janmamrityun hi yatyeko bhunaktyekah shubhashubham. Narakeshu Patatyek Eko Yaati Para Gatim’
According to Acharya Chanakya, just as a man is born alone, similarly he has to suffer the consequences of his sins and virtues alone. He has to suffer various kinds of hardships alone, i.e. he has to bear the pain of hell alone and he attains salvation alone.
Man has no companion in the cycle of birth and death. He is alone when he is born. He is alone when he dies. In such a situation, man has to participate alone in the cycle of repeated births and deaths.
In this shloka, Chanakya has said that a person will go to hell alone. Here, hell means nothing but the name of the sufferings that a person has to go through. The person is forced to suffer these sufferings alone. Chanakya says that sympathy can only be expressed in the suffering of any person, but his sorrow or pain cannot be shared.
Chanakya has indicated in this shloka that everything has to be done alone, so one should always be ready to fulfill the responsibility. Why look towards others? Stay free from the habit of taking help from others, this is the best.
