Chanakya Niti: Acharya Chanakya has answered many difficult questions related to life in Niti Shastra. In one verse, Acharya Chanakya has explained in which circumstances an intelligent person has to suffer. Read this verse of Niti Shastra and its meaning-
Foolish Disciple’s Teaching, Wicked Woman’s Teaching, Ch.
दुखखिते सम्प्रयोगेन पंदितोऽप्यावसिदति.
The meaning of this shloka mentioned in Niti Shastra is that even an intelligent person has to suffer by preaching to a foolish disciple, supporting an evil woman, wasting wealth and keeping company with an unhappy person.
Chanakya says that there is no benefit in imparting knowledge to a foolish person, otherwise gentlemen and intelligent people suffer losses. For example, you will remember the story of the weaver bird and the monkey. By advising the foolish monkey to build a house, the weaver bird had to lose its nest. In this way, gentlemen and intelligent people also suffer by nurturing a wicked and immoral woman.
According to Niti Shastra, Acharya Chanakya means to keep relations with unhappy people who are suffering from many diseases and whose wealth has been destroyed. Keeping any kind of relationship with such people can be harmful for an intelligent person. Many diseases mean infectious diseases. Many people are suffering from infectious diseases, there is a possibility of getting sick by associating with them. It becomes very difficult to trust people whose wealth has been destroyed or who have become bankrupt. Here, unhappy person also means a depressed person. It becomes very difficult for such people to recover from their sorrow and they only get failure. Chanakya says that people who are really unhappy and want to come out of it, such people should be helped. Only a selfish person stays away from an unhappy person.
