Chanakya Niti: Acharya Chanakya has given the solution to all the problems related to life in Niti Shastra. Through a verse, Chanakya has told in which situations a servant, friend, brother and wife are tested. You should also read these policies mentioned in Niti Shastra-
Verse- Janiyat preshne bhrtyyan bandhvan adyakagame. Mitra chapatikale tu bharyaan cha vibhavakshaye.
The meaning of this shloka mentioned in Niti Shastra is that one gets to know the reality of servants when they get work, of relatives when they are in trouble, of friends when they are in trouble and of one’s wife when wealth is lost.
Chanakya says that when a servant is appointed for some work, only then it will be known how capable he is. Similarly, when a person gets stuck in some trouble, then the brothers and relatives are tested. A friend is also recognized in times of trouble. Similarly, when a person is penniless, the reality of a wife is known whether her love was due to money or real.
According to ethics, this is a true brother-
Verse- Aateure adhyaya praatee durbhikshe shatrusankate. Rajadwara crematorium c yastishthati sa bandhavah.
The meaning of this shloka mentioned in Niti Shastra is that the person who does not abandon your friend when he is suffering from some disease, in sorrow, in famine, in trouble from the enemy, in the royal court, at the cremation ground or at the time of someone’s death, is truly considered to be a true friend.
Chanakya says that the person who accompanies a person till the cremation ground when he is sick or in pain, when there is a famine or when there is any kind of trouble from the enemy, when he is caught in a case etc. and when he dies, is a true friend or own. These are the occasions when helpers are needed. It is usually seen that the one who helps others, gets the help. Who will support the one who is not of help to anyone at the right time?
