A verse mentioned in Niti Shastra-
रुष्टा भार्या शत्म मित्रं भृत्यस्चोत्तरदायाः।
There is no doubt that the inhabitants of the house are surrendered.
Meaning of the Shloka- In the fifth shloka of the first chapter of the Niti Shastra, Acharya Chanakya says that a woman with an evil nature, one who speaks harsh words, a wicked woman, a cunning, evil-natured friend, a blunt servant and living in a house where there is a possibility of snakes, all these things are like death.
According to Acharya Chanakya, in a house where there are evil women, the condition of the householder is like that of a dead person, because he has no control and he keeps moving towards death, brooding inside. Similarly, a friend with an evil nature is also not trustworthy, you never know when he will betray you. The servant or the employee working under you who answers back to you can cause you unbearable harm at any time, living with such a servant is like drinking the sip of distrust. Similarly, living where snakes reside is also dangerous. You never know when you will be bitten by a snake.
