Chhath Pooja, Amrit Vichar: Today is the last day of Chhath Puja i.e. 8th November 2024. The women paid obeisance to Chhathi Mata by offering Arghya to the first ray of the rising sun and this 36-hour fast was broken. During this period, Chhath was celebrated with great pomp throughout the country including Lucknow. During this period, tight security arrangements were made. Thousands of fasting people were present at the ghats. It is believed that women who observe this fast attain happiness and prosperity in their home. Along with this, the health of all the family members also remains intact.
The four-day long Chhath festival ended by offering Arghya to Udayagami i.e. the rising Sun. After this, the fasting men and women worshiped Chhathi Maiya and Surya Dev. He also apologized for the mistake committed during this period and passed the Parana.
Chhath Mahaparva is a very special festival in Hindu religion. Therefore this festival is also called the great festival of faith. Preparations for Chhath start after Diwali. Worship on Chhath inspires tolerance and honesty: DGP
DGP Prashant Kumar said on Chhath Mahaparva that for me this festival is not just a religious festival but a symbol of a deep emotional and cultural link. Every aspect of Chhath Puja gives us a deep feeling of reverence towards our customs, rituals and way of life, which survives in our society from generation to generation. The blessings of Chhathi Maiya and the worship of Sun God empower the qualities like restraint, tolerance and honesty within us. Through this great festival, we can guide children towards a cultured, sensitive and strong society.
