Jitiya Vrat 2024 Date: Every year women observe Jitiya fast for the long life of their children. Jitiya fast is also known as Jivitiya or Jivitputrika fast. This fast is observed on the Ashtami date of Krishna Paksha of Ashwin month. Jitiya fast is considered a difficult fast. This Nirjala fast lasts for about 3 days. Let us know from Pandit ji when Jitiya fast will be observed, the day of Parana, and the method of worship-

Rare combination of Kharjitiya

According to Pandit Acharya Dharmendranath Mishra, the Jitiya fast will be on Tuesday and Wednesday, 24th and 25th September. The Jitiya fast will begin in Amrit Yoga. The special meal of Othgan women will be on 23rd September at the end of the night i.e. before sunrise. The Jitiya fast will be broken on Wednesday, 25th September, in the last part of the day i.e. after 5:05 in the evening. Since it is a two-day fast, it is likely to be a little difficult for the women observing Jitiya fast for the first time. This time there is also a rare coincidence of Kharjitiya. Women observe fast for the first time only when Kharjitiya starts. For which women wait for many days for when Kharjitiya will start.

When is Kharjitiya observed: Pandit Acharya Dharmendranath Mishra said that if Ashtami fast is observed on Tuesday or Saturday, then Kharjitiya is observed on that day, in which women observe Jitiya fast for the first time. When Kharjitiya is observed, the children of women observing fast do not die prematurely. Hence, from every point of view, this fast is no less than a great penance for women because there is no rule of even drinking water in this fast.

Acharya Dharmendranath told that according to Ganga Pulkit Panchang and Vidyapati Panchang, in case of crisis during the fast or in case of special circumstances, the fast can be completed by consuming water, sherbet, pure desi cow milk and juice etc. Women observe this fast to protect all their children from all obstacles and crises. Many stories are described in the Puranas regarding the significance of this fast. There is a rule of worshipping Lord Jimutvahan during Pradosh Kaal on the Ashtami Tithi of Krishna Paksha of Ashwin month. It is said in Bhavishya Purana that this fast should be observed on Ashtami Tithi Pradosh Kaal Vyapini. Ashtami of Krishna Paksha of Ashwin month is famous by the name of Jeevit Putrika, which provides children and unbroken good fortune to all women.

Make a pond in the courtyard and plant the Pakkad tree. Place the Chilli branch in it with cow-dung and again cow-dung soil in the Dhodhar under the Siyarini tree. Keep a pot filled with water in the middle. On that pot, place an idol of Lord Jimutvahana made of Kush and put a flag of many colours. After that, take Kush, sesame, water, take a pledge etc. and worship with many things and listen to the story of Lord Jimutvahana. There is a tradition of worshipping with bamboo leaves for the increase of progeny in Jimutvahana fast.
