Ayodhya. On the occasion of Mahashivaratri of the month of Shravan, there was a wonderful confluence of reverence and faith in Ram Nagari Ayodhya Dham. From three o’clock in the morning, a huge crowd gathered to bathe on Saryu’s new ghat and Ram’s Paidi and take holy water. Millions of Kanwaris from all over the country have reached Ayodhya. The devotees are doing Jalabhishek in all the pagoda by taking a holy bath in the Saryu river. Mainly Nageshwarnath and Kshirshvarnath Mahadev Temple have a huge crowd of devotees.
Omprakash, the chief priest of Nageshwar Nath Temple, said that more than millions of devotees have performed Jalabhishek on the Shivaratri of Sawan, long queues of Shiva devotees have been seen in temples since morning, where the sound of bhajan-kirtan is making the atmosphere devotional. The district administration has made extensive security arrangements on the Ram Path, Bhakti Path and Darshan Path to control the crowd of devotees.
Barricading has been installed at various places and security personnel are constantly monitoring. The whole of Ayodhya is drenched in devotional juice, Kirtan Bhajan and Jayakare are seen all around. The whole atmosphere is Shiva. Traffic is prohibited on all the main routes connecting Ayodhya, the entry of large and four -wheelers is closed. Even this fierce sun and heat, Shiva devotees are not able to deepen the enthusiasm and devotion of the Kavaris. Rampath has been packed with devotees for three consecutive days.
