Soronji, Amrit Vichar: Lord Varah’s birthplace Soron Shukar Kshetra is full of devotees on the occasion of Pitru Paksha. Here devotees are reaching in large numbers to offer tarpan to their ancestors on the banks of Haripadi Ganga Kund. According to mythological belief, immersion of ancestors’ ashes brings salvation. Peace remains in the family. Here hundreds of devotees are reaching Haripadi Ganga Kund to offer tarpan to their ancestors.
Devotees from all over the country are coming to the pilgrimage town of Soron these days. Due to which an atmosphere of faith and devotion has been created at this holy place. On this occasion of Pitru Paksha, due to the devotion and faith of the devotees, the scene of Haripaudi Ganga Kund has become very emotional and divine. During Pitru Paksha, devotees are coming from Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi as well as various districts of Uttar Pradesh to immerse the ashes of their ancestors besides offering water and pinddaan. Mahant Kalicharan of Haripaudi Ganga Kund told that Haripaudi Ganga Kund is the first pond of Uttar Pradesh to give salvation. By offering tarpan here during Pitru Paksha, ancestors get special peace and liberation.
Performing Shraddha increases fame, glory and progeny
Whatever is given to ancestors regularly with devotion is called Shradh. Shradh has mainly three parts, Pinda daan, Tarpan and food. By performing Shradh for ancestors, ancestors become pleased and increase fame, wealth and progeny. During Pitru Paksha, ancestors reach their home in the form of air from the south and after accepting the Shradh meant for themselves, bestow various blessings. Today in Soron Shukar area, Shradh and Tarpan on Saptami Tithi on the eighth day of Pitru Paksha were performed at Laddoo Wale Balaji Ghat under the guidance of Acharya Shashidhar Dwivedi.
Lord Vishnu took his third incarnation as Lord Varah in Soron Shukar area. Here Lord Varah killed Hiranyaksha and dug out water from Harpadiya Ganga Kund with his nails and sacrificed his body in it. Since then this belief has been prevalent here. While ancestors are pleased by offering water, Pinddaan and food in the Kund, the bones of the dead are immersed in this Kund, which dissolve in water within just 72 hours, such is the belief.
