The Ekadashi of Ashada Shukla Paksha is called Devshayani. It is also known as Ashadhi Ekadashi, Padma Ekadashi and Harishyani Ekadashi. This time the Devshayani Ekadashi fast will be on 6 July Sunday. Chaturmas also starts from this day. These four months of Chaturmas are considered auspicious for worship, meditation, rituals. From Devshayani Ekadashi, Lord Vishnu goes to Yoga Nidra in Ksheer Sagar for four months. After this, exactly four months after Lord Vishnu Yoganidra, Prabodhini i.e. Dev is awake on Ekadashi. During this time, during the Yoganidra of God, all auspicious works like marriage, home entry, engagement, Mundan Sanskar etc. will be forbidden. After this, it will start with Dev Uthani Ekadashi on 2 November.
Muhurta- The date of Devshayani Ekadashi will start from 6:58 pm on July 5 and end on July 6 at 9:14 pm. Fasting time- Devshayani Ekadashi will be passed on July 7 from 5:29 am to 8:16 pm.
The importance of Devshayani Ekadashi on this auspicious day gives freedom from all kinds of sins.
By observing this fast, all the wishes of a person are fulfilled. According to religious beliefs, keeping Ekadashi fast leads to salvation after death.
Devshayani Ekadashi ritual: Get up early in the morning and retire from bathing etc.
Light a lamp in the temple of the house. Anoint Lord Vishnu with Ganga water. Offer flowers and Tulsi Dal to Lord Vishnu. If possible, keep fast on this day. Pray to God. Offer God. Keep in mind that only sattvic things are offered to God. Do include Tulsi in the enjoyment of Lord Vishnu. It is believed that Lord Vishnu does not take enjoyment without Tulsi. Worship Lord Vishnu as well as Goddess Lakshmi on this auspicious day. On this day, meditate more and more to God.
